Benny`s Tybee Tavern in Tybee Island

Had a great time Friday & Saturday nights while on Tybee Island. We had a bachelorette party Saturday night and had the best time. Fun crowd of people, good mix of age groups, good bartender, great location! Only negative thing was only 2 toilets in women's bathroom, lol. If your looking to have a good time on the Island Benny's is the spot. If you don't have a good time there, your just not a fun person and it's your own fault. They had Karaoke both nights. Even if you can't carry a tune the crowd claps and has fun anyway!! Next time I'm in Tybee Island, you can find me at Benny's after dark!!!

If Hole in The Wall is what you desire then look no further. They are very welcoming all the time! Pool tables aren't bad either!

Was here on karaoke night on a Friday (11/23/2018) and was treated very badly by the karaoke DJ woman. She was very unprofessional & rude to my friends. Then the DJ woman took the mic and sang songs by herself, which was not only awkward, but painful because her bad voice really hurt my ears. The bartenders were very friendly though.

This place is one of the most quaint on Tybee. Tess, The General Manager, takes care of your every desire. Benny's is a must visit when you are on the island!

The bartender was rude. Made us feel unwelcome. Seemed to tend mainly to the local crowd. Had a jukebox style player but didn't like our song choices, that's when she became rude. Take out the songs that the grump doesn't like! Good grief. Replacement bartender was very pleasant. We played pool and spent $125-150 while there for 1-2 hours.

Hands down one of my favorite bars in the entire country. Whole strip down there lets you bring in alcohol from other bars, amazing food and free pool if I remember.

AWESOME NEIGHBORHOOD DIVE BAR!I walked in by myself on a Thursday evening. My first visit to Georgia, let alone quirky Tybee Island. I definitely stood out amongst the regulars who were belly-upped to the bar. Was an awkward entry because I was alone, but I went on to have an unforgettable time. Owner Denny himself saw I was a stranger and came over to introduce himself. We had a great talk. Later he introduced me to everyone at the bar, including his wife, all the bartenders, the cook, and most of the salty regulars. I really liked meeting Mike the Fisherman/Logger/Painter and his wife...who he met at Dennys 10 years prior. Gem of a guy. Loved the place but more importantly the people. Oh and the draft beer was icy cold and the bourbon was amazing. What a fantastic, memorable experience

No service. Came in with my buddy, was ignored. No signs directing whether to wait to be seated. Sat for 10 minutes, then went to the place across the street after getting no service.

Best food and coldest drinks around! I'll be returning for sure! Everyone was so friendly & welcoming!

It was my sister's birthday and four of us walked in with our birthday hats ready to shoot pool and have a good time. We got greeted with disgust by the bartender who said "oh great just what I needed" keep in mind there were two people in the bar you think she would have wanted the business. When we went to turn around and leave we got clapping and the comment thanks for leaving we want to the Sand bar across the street which was a blast. My sister is a bartender in Ft. Lauderdale Fl (has been for 30 Years) she insisted I write a review where ever I can find them listed...

Love this place everyone is hometown friendly (meaning the threat you as family can be sarcastic and a smart ass) but in the best way.....food is great. .. Atmosphere is fun and lively. Prices are very realizable. .

One word: KARAOKE! I have nothing bad to say about this place, but then again, it's usually our last stop of the evening when we go out on Tybee, so my judgment may be a little skewed. :-P

Love this little dive bar! If it's a busy night and the super old lady is there be prepared to wait! I still wouldn't change it for anything!

After reading great reviews about the friendly bar and great food we thought we'd give it a try. Was told when we walked in, they don't serve food. We left and went to Rock house instead, which serves great food!

This place is absolutely TRASH. If you want to get in a fight with obnoxious drunks then this is the place for you!! It was my birthday weekend and it was ruined because of this bar! We left but the guy got to stay.. can't even go out and have fun anymore with out some TRASH or people that can't handle their alcohol!!! TYBEE ISLAND PERIOD SUCKS!

My husband and I was on our anniversary trip (19 years) we dont drink but we loved this place. This was our hang out spot Watching everyone sing karaoke. Everyone was super friendly. We will definitely return.

I went here for the first during Mardi Gras this past weekend, it's a great place to have drinks, I played darts and had a great time. Very quaint.

Typical tourist stop type bar. Service was great people were friendly and everything was clean. Food was ok but not wow.
